Cruising through many states of America, remnants of eateries of the past can still be found. Travel back to a stage in time with me to rekindle the memories of food franchises and the lost cuisine of bygone days. We can remember the presence of these dining experiences in their heyday long ago, but still etched in moments and recollections.

    1929
    Baltimore, Maryland

    Description
White Coffee Pot Family Inns was a restaurant chain and coffeeshop that opened in 1929 in the 1960s and 1970s. From the beginning it was beset with competition from Gino's (which sold Kentucky Fried Chicken), Denny's and Friendly's. The last White Coffee Pot restaurant had a partnership with the Horn and Horn Smorgasbord Cafeteria chain and ceased operations in Maryland in 1993. Some later were rebranded and became Cactus Willie's all-you-can-eat restaurants.
