    Description
The Wetson's chain was started by Herbert Wetanson was in operation from 1959 to 1975 and was a convenience food hamburger operation. With over 70 locations in the New York metropolitan area and garnered the inspiration when on a trip happened to visit a McDonald brothers' location. From experience in the employ of his father who owned and operated restaurants he was intrigued by this concept. This entrance into the fast food business was not without hardship and the competition against previously established ones such as McDonald's and Burger King in the vicinity. This was instrumental the need to merge with another food fare which was Nathan's Famous fast-food chain in 1975. This decision proved to be fatal for the brand and after shuttering most of the locations it led to the brand going out of business and from 2016 and as of 2022, the Wetson's trademark is owned by National Food Brands Marketing, Inc., of New York.
