Description
Hamburger Hamlet opened in 1950 by film actor Harry Lewis with his future wife Marilyn and expanded to 24 locations, including Chicago and the Washington, D.C. metro areas. They basically sod hamburgers with unusual toppings of the time of bacon with Russian dressing, guacamole, baked beans and marinara sauce. It flourished until 1997 when it was purchased by Koo Koo Ro for $33 million.
