The H.A. Winston & Co. chain was owned by the Spivak brothers and the "H" in "H.A. Winston & Co." represents co-owner Herb Spivak, and the "A" for Allen Spivak started in 1972 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It offered a variety of gourmet burgers with topping such as sautéed onions, peppers, mushrooms, assorted cheeses, and even caviar. The franchise was sold in 1992 and some were rebranded as Rookie's and former employees still hold reunions to celebrate their time working at the former company.

Travel back to a stage in time with me to rekindle the memories of food franchises and the lost cuisine of bygone days. We can remember the presence of these dining experiences in their heyday long ago, but still etched in moments and recollections.
