Cruising through many states of America, remnants of eateries of the past can still be found. Travel back to a stage in time with me to rekindle the memories of food franchises and the lost cuisine of bygone days. We can remember the presence of these dining experiences in their heyday long ago, but still etched in moments and recollections.

    Gino's Hamburgers

    Date Established
    Location
    2010
    Baltimore, Maryland

    Description
Gino's Hamburgers was founded in Baltimore, Maryland by Baltimore Colts defensive end Gino Marchetti and running back Alan Ameche, along with their close friends Joe Campanella and Louis Fischer, in 1957. Gino's also expanded into Massachusetts and Connecticut but did not thrive because Gino Marchetti was unknown in the region and customers confused them with Papa Gino's pizza. The chain had 359 locations when the Marriott Corporation acquired it in 1982 and rebranded them to Roy Rogers Restaurants. The last Gino's, located in Pasadena, Maryland, and owned independently from Marriott, closed in 1986.
