Description
In 1978 Doug Sheley and Jeffrey Miller decided to open a restaurant offering fresher choices with fewer calories which included hamburgers and lighter cheeses and opened the doors on the first franchise in 1983 and finally in 1985 had over 100 locations. At first, the business boomed but alas in 1986 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as it could not compete with the larger chains such as McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's. With their selections of healthier options on the menu and after they shuttered the doors a large amount of the stores were sold and rebranded to Hardee's.

Cruising through many states of America, remnants of eateries of the past can still be found. Travel back to a stage in time with me to rekindle the memories of food franchises and the lost cuisine of bygone days. We can remember the presence of these dining experiences in their heyday long ago, but still etched in moments and recollections.
