Description
The idea to create a drive-n type restaurant in the state of Utah was the inspiration of Dee Frederick Anderson offering just hamburgers in 1920 near the University of Utah. It later was the catalyst to open his first permanent location in Utah in 1932 and would eventually have the offshoots of both Dee's Family Restaurant and Dee's Drive-In. With a mascot at each Dee's franchise location of a huge clown sign holding balloons with sale items listed inside. In the latter part of 1970, the entire Drive-in enterprise was sold to Hardee's with the a few of the Family Restaurants still in business until in 2004 when a few were purchased and changed to Walgreens.
