Travel back to a stage in time with me to rekindle the memories of food franchises and the lost cuisine of bygone days. We can remember the presence of these dining experiences in their heyday long ago, but still etched in moments and recollections.

    Blue Boar Cafeterias

    Description
    Once in partnership with B&W Cafeterias in Nashville, and was the last of these chains to cease operations. During the highlight of the chain it had locations in Louisville, Lexington, Memphis, Nashville, Little Rock, and Cleveland. In 1961, Blue Boar was marked with protests pertaining to the civil rights movement and to this day a historic marker is at the former location at 410 W. Walnut Street (now renamed Muhammad Ali Boulevard). The franchise was associated with 'home-style" selections and favored by workers and shoppers with low cost and good food. In 1995, the chain closed its last remaining location outside of Louisville, Kentucky.
