    1997
    Baltimore, Maryland

    Description
ESPN Zone was an eatery enhanced with arcades, TV studios, and radio studios, maintained by Disney Regional Entertainment, and was first named called ESPN Grill and later ESPN Zone on December 29, 1997. By June 2010, all but two locations were closed to the public, with the except restaurants located in Southern California. Former workers at the Baltimore ESPN Zone initiated a class action lawsuit against the company after the 2010 closing, stating that Disney violated the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988. As the result of this action Disney and the employees settled the lawsuit in November 2013. The ESPN West Coast headquarters building closed in July 2013, and in October 2017, Disney announced plans to replace ESPN Zone with a resort hotel but instead the restaurant closed on June 2, 2018.
